FAQ

FAQ
A

Lucinate is a cosmetic procedure for the front teeth that we mainly recommend for those who want to improve both the color and shape of their teeth at once. It's suitable for cases such as concerns about discoloration or staining, slight gaps between teeth, uneven tooth shape or size, and wanting to quickly improve minor crowding or crookedness.

Teeth whitening is a procedure that only brightens the color, while orthodontics actually moves the teeth to change their alignment and takes a relatively long time. Lucinate, by contrast, can improve the aesthetic aspects of color, shape, and alignment together in a short period. We recommend determining—through a prior consultation and detailed examination—whether orthodontics or Lucinate treatment is the right fit for you.

A

Lucinate is made with high-strength ceramic (e.max), so it can be used with strength close to that of natural teeth, and when combined with regular checkups and care, it can generally be used for a long time. Actual longevity may vary depending on oral hygiene habits, harmful habits such as teeth grinding (bruxism), and dietary habits.

Lucid Dental Clinic's Lucinate applies different aftercare (warranty) periods depending on the type: Classic offers 3 years, Premier 5 years, and The Lucinate 10 years of aftercare. Because bonded ceramic can be damaged by strong impact, we recommend being careful with hard or sticky foods for the first 3 months after bonding; after that, you can use it just like your own teeth. Detailed warranty conditions and care methods will be explained during your consultation.

A

Because Lucinate only minimally prepares the tooth surface by about 0.01–0.1mm, it tends to cause less irritation than procedures that shave down a large amount of tooth structure. During the procedure, local anesthesia is applied to reduce discomfort, and most patients can carry on with daily life without significant issues even after the anesthesia wears off.

That said, if part of the tooth has been prepared, you may experience temporary sensitivity to hot or cold foods for a short period right after the procedure. This typically decreases gradually as you go through the adjustment period. Sensitivity to pain or cold varies from person to person, so if your teeth tend to be sensitive in general, please let us know during the consultation, and we'll tailor the approach accordingly.

A

Lucinate, Lucid Dental Clinic's signature cosmetic procedure for the front teeth, differs from the standard veneers offered at other clinics through its beautiful design and fully customized fabrication. The treatment period is as short as about a day, and the procedure is completed using high-strength premium ceramic materials and top-grade bonding adhesives.

Depending on the treatment timeline and aftercare, it is divided into three types: Classic, Premier, and The Lucinate. The cost varies by type, warranty (AS) period, number of teeth, and tooth condition, ranging from 600,000 to 1,000,000 KRW per tooth, with the exact amount provided after a consultation that assesses your oral condition.

Classic takes about 7–10 days, while Premier and The Lucinate can be completed the same day (one-day), allowing you to go about your daily life with no downtime.

A

Lucinate involves minimally preparing the tooth surface by only about 0.01–0.1mm and then bonding a custom-made ceramic onto it. This approach avoids the biggest drawbacks of no-prep veneers—such as teeth looking bulky, protruding, oddly shaped, or pushing the lips outward—while still creating an aesthetically beautiful result.

At Lucid Dental Clinic, we use Cerec CAD/CAM digital milling technology to fabricate extremely thin restorations with precision, and our top-tier ceramist dental technicians apply additional aesthetic craftsmanship to each piece. We also use high-strength ceramic (e.max), a material with strength very close to that of natural teeth, so it can be used just like your own tooth—while preserving as much of your natural tooth structure as possible.

Whether we prepare or shave the tooth at all, and to what extent, depends on the condition of your teeth and the shape you want. Through a prior consultation and detailed examination, we'll guide you to the method best suited to you individually.
